Director of Training
Dorian Cota

Dorian Cota is our Director of Training here at WestPoint Heli. His passion for helicopters, natural leadership, and enthusiasm is evident in everything he does. He hopes to be a role model for all aspiring AMEs and wants everyone to chase their dreams and aim sky high!

"Raised in a commercial prawn fishing family on Vancouver Island, BC, life had its ups and downs but I learned the value of hard work and making sure to enjoy this experience every step of the way."

Dorian's passion for helicopters led him to SAIT’s Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Program and then onto an AME career working on Bell 204 and 206 airframes. After 15 years as an AME, he spread his wings and completed his Commercial Helicopter Pilot's License. In 2012, Dorian Co-founded COTA Aviation, and acquired a 58,000 sq-ft facility where he expanded into fleet maintenance and manufacturing. At the same time, Dorian worked as an instructor for WestPoint Heli, where he grew a passion for teaching and elevating fellow AMEs. Dorian acquired WestPoint Heli in 2024 and now leads the company as Director of Training. Dorian hopes to grow his ATO, AMO, and eventually acquire a DAO.
